At Osborne County Community Foundation (OCCF), we’re fortunate to have two exciting giving opportunities in 2025 that strengthen our communities: Match Month and our brand-new event, Impact Day. While both give donors the chance to multiply their gifts through matching dollars, they’re different in scope, timing, and purpose. Here’s a breakdown to help you understand how each works.
Match Month: Building Long-Term Strength
When it happens: Every February
How it works: During Match Month, donations go into OCCF’s permanent operating endowment. The Dane G. Hansen Foundation and Patterson Family Foundation provide generous matching funds, making every dollar go further.
Why it matters: These gifts fuel OCCF’s capacity to serve the county for generations to come—supporting future grantmaking and sustainability of the organization.
Donor impact: Match Month is about keeping OCCF strong so we can keep Osborne County strong. It’s a long-term investment in the foundation itself.
Impact Day: Strengthening Local Funds
When it happens: This year, Friday, Sept. 19, 2025
How it works: Impact Day is a one-day giving event where donors give directly to participating organizational and community funds. Thanks to a $25,000 matching pool from OCCF and the Patterson Family Foundation, every donation is eligible for a boost. No single fund can receive more than half of the total match, and gifts are matched proportionally, up to 100%.
Why it matters: These gifts go into the endowment principal of local funds, giving churches, schools, libraries, and other organizations long-term sustainability for their missions.
Donor impact: Impact Day is about choosing your favorite cause and watching your gift grow stronger through matching dollars.

The Big Picture
Both Match Month and Impact Day are about building a stronger Osborne County—just in different ways. Match Month strengthens OCCF as a whole, ensuring we can continue to serve as a resource and grantmaker. Impact Day strengthens individual funds, giving donors the chance to directly support the causes they care about most.
When you give, you’re not just making a donation—you’re making a difference for Osborne County.
