Youth Council
Investing in the next generation of leaders
Established in 2026, the Osborne County Community Foundation Youth Council is a leadership and service program designed to engage high school students in meaningful community involvement while fostering a lifelong spirit of philanthropy. Open to students across Osborne County in grades 9-11, the Youth Council provides hands-on opportunities to learn about local needs, develop leadership skills, and make a real impact through service projects and community engagement.
When will the first Youth Council cohort begin?
The first cohort will serve during the 2026-2027 school year. An orientation will be held in summer 2026 with monthly meetings following in September -November and January - March.
How many council members are there?
The council is composed of one representative from each of Osborne County's five communities.
What will council members do?
Youth Council members will meet regularly throughout the school year to learn about philanthropy, leadership, and local community needs while working together to plan and carry out a community project. Members will also participate in OCCF events, including Impact Day and Match Month, and serve as ambassadors for the foundation—sharing its mission and helping inspire a spirit of giving within their schools and communities.
